We are getting married!
Hi! Welcome to the website for our wedding! 🥰 Here you will be able to find all information related to the event including place, time, how to get there, where to sleep… Please be patient and think that we are just getting started, so we'll keep filling the details as soon as we have them. For any question or inquiry, contact us through WhatsApp and we'll expand the web with the answers so it's available for everyone.
Basic information
When and where
Date: Friday 18th of April 2025 (Good Friday)
Schedule: to be determined (approximately from noon to midnight)
Place: La Hacienda de La Llorea Golf, Gijón/Xixón (Asturias/Asturies)

Accomodation
Gijón
We recommend you stay in Gijón because it's closer and because it's a city with many amenities (and our home 😊). It takes barely 15min by car to reach La Hacienda de la Llorea (from the city center), around 16€ by taxi.
Though it's a smaller, walkable city, there are many options to stay depending on your priorities. Like:
- Close to free public parking (in the El Molinón stadium): Hotel Zentral Gijón Rey Pelayo, Parador de Gijón (old restored watermill)…
- Close to the bus and train stations: Hotel Silken Ciudad Gijón, NUMA Hotel Boutique… — Close to the beach: NH Gijón, abba Playa Gijón Hotel, Hotel Príncipe de Asturias…
Urban transport
City buses don't get you to the Hacienda, but using them to move inside the town is very convenient—you can pay on the spot by cash or card.
PLEASE NOTE: Google Maps app is not very precise for city buses, so we recommend you download Gijón EMTUSA
(Android / iOS), the company app, where you can check maps, lines and timetables.
Villaviciosa
That said, the venue is also close to Villaviciosa, a small quiet town with some presence of Holy Week traditions, for those that may be interested in the processions typical of those dates. Both the distance by car and the price of a taxi to La Hacienda are similar to Gijón: 15min and 15-20€.
In the tourism website for Villaviciosa you can find a list of hotels in the municipality.
Close to the venue
Close to the venue you can find Hotel OCA Palacio de La Llorea & SPA **** (with direct walking access) and Hotel ARTIEM Asturias *****, a couple minutes away. A bit more convenient but perhaps more expensive.
Alternative accomodation
Since La Hacienda is close to the rural center of the municipalities for both Gijón and Villaviciosa, there's some cottages in the vicinity. We recommend this option only if you come in your own car and you look for something a bit more peaceful, since transport is slightly more complex.
In the suburbia of Gijón you can also find what's called Viviendas Vacacionales which, in many cases, same as cottages, are a good option for bigger groups.
How to get here
Gijón is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is famous for its greenful landscapes and geography, that allow you to move from the sea to the mountains in an hour. In its natural environments you can practice open air sports and enjoy unique food and traditions. It is very similar in customs and lifestyle to Galicia, Jorge's homeland 😊

From Aeropuerto de Asturias to Gijón
It's a 40 minutes ride to Gijón by car, though you can also get there by:
- Cars hires from many brands
- Local electric cars: Guppy is a local route-based electric car hire company. You can use them across Asturias and pick/leave them in some areas such as the airport or the city center of some towns (like Gijón). You need an account to use it, which is free, but sign up well in advance, as you need to scan your driving license for manual validation before hiring your first car. You can book them in advance or pick them up on the fly, if they are available. You usually pay by the kilometer.
- ALSA coaches: It runs every half or full hour, depending on time of day, and it costs 9€ per person. You can book them through the internet and they stop at the city center, well connected through city bus with almost everywhere in town.
- Taxi: cost of a taxi from the airport to Gijón is approximately 60€ during the day and 70€ at night. There'a almost always taxis waiting for you in arrivals after flights land. If that's not the case, you can call any of the phone numbers for the services in the area to request one.
By train
- From Madrid: with trains from RENFE, direct, they take between 3h and a half and 4h. Many trips daily.
- From Barcelona: with trains from RENFE (one service daily, trip takes 11 hours) or via Madrid with high-speed train (AVE).
Close to the train station there are many city bus stops. Furthermore, walking towards the city center you can get in barely 12 minutes to La Gota de Leche / Humedal, one of the hubs of the city, where city buses run in all directions.
By coach
ALSA offers frequent connections with other autonomous communities in Spain.
Coach station is found downtown, barely 2 minutes by foot from La Gota de Leche / Humedal, one of the hubs of the city, where city buses run in all directions.
By car
Gijón is connected with the rest of northern Spain (Galicia to the west, Cantabria to the east) through the Autovía del Cantábrico A-8 (toll free). To the south, autovía AP-66 (tolled) connects Asturias with León and the rest of the hinterland. So depending on where you're coming from, check Google Maps or Vía Michelin and, should any question arise, talk to us!
